Review & giveaway: SoDelicious

July 19, 2010

I’ve been interested for quite awhile in the health benefits of coconut, and I include it in my diet in some form or another several times a week. I’ve also been a fan of Turtle Mountain’s SoDelicious coconut milk products for a long time (using them in such treats as coconut heaven cupcakes), so when they sent me five free product coupons, I was stoked. So stoked, in fact, that I wound up buying more products than I had coupons for!

I had just recently tried (and enjoyed) their coconut milk kefir, so I got another for my morning smoothies.

I love to bake with their unsweetened coconut milk, and I like pouring it over cereal too.

I used their coconut milk creamer in the frosting for my best-ever chocolate cake, but of course it’s perfect in coffee, too.

I love me some coconut milk yogurt!

I absolutely adore the vanilla variety; it’s ten times better than any soy yogurt I’ve ever tried. It’s particularly great with raspberries and hempseeds!

Matt and I both liked the chocolate kind too. It’s got just the right amount of pleasant tang, but plenty of chocolatey sweetness too.

The one product that was brand new to me was their Purely Decadent coconut milk ice cream. I’d never bought it before due to the price, but it was high time I tried it.

Matt helped me select the Turtle Trails variety, with chocolate-coated pecans and a caramel swirl. This was much lighter and fluffier in texture than dairy ice cream, and I loved discovering pockets of oozy caramel in the ice cream’s snowy landscape.

In a flash of prescience, I decided to save one of the coupons to give away to YOU! The winner of this giveaway will receive one coupon for a free Turtle Mountain SoDelicious coconut milk product of your choice, redeemable at your local Whole Foods or other health food store where SoDelicious products are sold.

HOW TO ENTER: Go to SoDelicious’ website and check out all the coconut milk products they offer. Then come back here and leave a comment below telling me which one you’d get with your free coupon!
For extra entries (leave an additional comment for each one):
–Link to this giveaway on your blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
–Add me to your blogroll (or let me know I’m already on there)
–Subscribe to my blog by email, RSS, Google reader, etc.

The deadline for entries is Friday morning, July 23rd, at 9:00am CST. Unfortunately (but tell me if I’m wrong), SoDelicious products are only available in the U.S. right now, so I’ll have to limit this giveaway to the States.
I’ll be choosing the winner at random. Good luck!

I’ve been wanting to try to coconut Kefir, but didn’t want to buy it in case I didn’t like it. That’s the product I would try. Or, if I’m being honest, I *might* give in and buy some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.

  2. July 19, 2010 2:05 pm

I would try some new flavors of the fruit-sweetened soy milk ice cream! So far I’ve had chocolate almond and chocolate PB. Thanks for such a great giveaway!

No doubt I’d have to try the Purely Decadent Coconut Milk Ice Cream being the ice cream lover that I am.

  17. July 20, 2010 1:38 am

Once upon a time, a handful of the SoDelicious soy-based ice creams were available in Canberra. This was just after I’d returned from my exchange year in the States, and so I was overjoyed, even though none of the peanut butter flavours made it here. It was extremely pircey, but worth it for the non-dairy butter pecan and mocha almond fudge goodness. Guess what happened?

They vanished and my world got lonely again. The End.

  18. July 20, 2010 1:52 am

the mocha almond fudge coconut ice cream–hubby’s fave.

Hi Amber! We’re delighted that you’re enjoying all of our coconut milk treats! Thank you very much for letting others know and for giving one of your readers the chance to win a free product of their choice.

I did want to mention that while the coupon you have to give away is good only at stores in the US, our dairy-free ice cream is available throughout Canada, and we hope to have more news about our refrigerated products being available there later this year.

Thanks again for all the great photos, delicious review, and giveaway!

I would not be able to be vegan without So Delicious. I eat their unsweetened coconut milk in my cereal every morning. I always use their creamer in my coffee and chai tea. I have also tried their yogurt and coconut kefir — sooo delish! However, as a graduate student with limited funds, I just can’t justify spending so much on their ice creams. I’m dying to try them, so that’s what I’d use the coupon for!

To be honest, I haven’t been totally impressed with their milks though I have not tried the kefir or creamer. I might use the coupon to get the kefir so I can try it or I will go with the yogurt or gf cookie dough ice cream – both of which I can’t get enough of.

I love so delicious coconut products. I would have a hard time choosing just one. I personally would choose the pomegranet chip coconut icecream, or maybe the coco almond bars. My son (he is 7 and his birthday is 7/28) would choose the vanilla coconut milk. Because of his food allergies, he drinks this stuff by the gallon. My husband would choose the mint chip icecream.

If we win, it will be a race to the mailbox and whoever wins will choose 🙂

Wow, I hadn’t noticed the Coconut Water Sorbet before – haven’t seen it in the relatively few stores we have but I bet I could ask the companies to order some. I’ve tried the Coconut Milk Kefirs (plain & strawberry), the straight coconut milk, hazelnut coffee creamer…ice creams are good too (especially the Green Tea and the Coconut Almond), and also the Stick Bars (vanilla coconut milk ice cream with chocolate covering, yum)… So anyway I think it would be the Sorbet, yea – final answer (oh and the Raspberry one at that!!).
