Two quick announcements!

February 9, 2011
tags: ,

Hi everyone! The day has finally arrived—the last day to vote in the 2011 Hot Raw Chef contest, that is! My first announcement, then, is twofold:

a) If you have NOT yet voted, please CLICK HERE TO VOTE for VIDEO #5,
my raw caramel-fudge brownies!
b) If you did cast your vote already, then please cross your fingers for me! 😛

Remember, everyone who votes will receive a free e-book containing the recipes of all 44 contestants! The e-books will be mailed out after the results of the contest are announced on Valentine’s Day, Monday, February 14th. WISH ME LUCK!

My second announcement is something you probably already saw, if you follow Almost Vegan on Facebook or Twitter:

I am the newest expert food columnist at Menuism.com!

Restaurant Reviews and Menus

Menuism is an interactive social network just for foodies! I’m the newest addition to their panel of food experts. My specialty? Vegan and raw food, of course! So, feel free to:

– Check out my profile and mini-bio
– Read my introductory “Meet The Experts” interview
– Read my debut article, entitled “What’s so great about raw food, anyway?”
– And while you’re at it, follow Menuism on Facebook and Twitter too!

I’m excited my monthly column is underway!

So, in summary:
VOTE –and– READ!

Have a great rest of your day, everyone!

Ahhh! So exciting for you! The interview was soooo good! Congratulations on this wonderful opportunity, I know you have so much knowledge to share on this topic and this way you may be able to spread that message to others who may have never thought about raw food before.

I recently found your webiste off a link from the Vegan.com blog. I love your blog! I have been vegan for almost 3 years but have never really tried raw food. I have found so many recipes I want to try from your blog – thanks for helping me expand my horizons!

I also voted for you in the contest – those brownies look yummy. I want to make them but wasn’t sure where to get lucama powder or cocoa butter – is there a substitute for these? Thanks again – hope you win the contest!

Hi Sue! Thanks so much for your kind comment! I love hearing that I’m helping to expand your horizons, even though you were already vegan 😀

Thank you very much for the vote, as well. As far as those items go, I get mine at NutsOnline.com (they have HUGE selection of almost everything under the sun, plus low prices and fast shipping). However, in the meantime, you can feel free to substitute 2 Tbsp palm/coconut sugar OR brown sugar for the 1/4 cup lucuma powder, and replace the 2 Tbsp cacao butter with an equal amount of additional coconut oil (so you’ll end up putting in a total of 6 Tbsp of coconut oil). The flavors will be a tad different, but still delicious!

What a small world. 🙂 I love your web sight and I look forward in seeing you again at another potluck. There is one in Lee’s Summit this Saturday and I hope to see you there. Can you make your famous winning brownies? 🙂 I am SO HAPPY for you Amber!!! 🙂 God Bless 🙂
