Practically Raw recipe testers’ photos

Hi all! Today, I’m so excited to get to share with you some lovely photos from a few of the amazing folks who tested recipes for my cookbook, Practically Raw: Flexible Raw Recipes Anyone Can Make (which, in case you didn’t hear, is now available for preorder!). This’ll give you a fun sneak peek at a few of the delicious raw dishes you’ll find inside the book!

Jennifer made this incredible photo collage of all the recipes she tested from the Milks and Smoothies chapter.

Lisa‘s photos of my dishes are gorgeous too, including this one of Le Matin Parfait (a breakfast parfait with fresh berries, Coconut Yogurt, and Date-Nut Crumble)…

…and this one of her interpretation of Parisian Street CrΓͺpes with Chocolate Silk Ganache and Strawberry Coulis (which you also see on the cover of the book).

My tester Billie made these Almond Butter Sesame Noodles (another dish pictured on the book’s cover)…

…as well as Deconstructed Sushi Bowls…

…and Spanish Garden Paella.

Dessert time! Β My tester Samantha photographed two interpretations of my Crunchy Salted Cashew Cookies, one with Mesquite-Candied Pecans pressed into the tops…

…and this one, a cookie sandwich with firmed-up Chocolate Silk Ganache inside!

Speaking of cookies and chocolate, Samantha also made a big batch of my Chocolate Almond Butter Cookies.

While Samantha pressed my Famous 5-Minute Blondies into heart-shaped silicone pans…

…Billie cut them into classic square shapes.

I love how Samantha used a crunchy, coarse-grained sugar to coat my Sugared Doughnut Holes.

I’ll end with one more impressive collage from Jennifer, this one of some recipes from the Desserts chapter.

    Okay, seriously? These pics look fantastic!

    I will confess that raw cookbooks appeal to me a bit but I haven’t looked into them because I know my husband wouldn’t be that into it. But I have to say that between the paella and the deconstructed sushi bowls, I’m going over to add this one to my cart.

    I wasn’t going to order any more “raw” cookbooks because of all the work involved. However, the pictures from your tasters have intrigued me as well as the blurb on the front about “cooked options.” I am looking forward to the publication of this book! Oh – I also plan to make that single serving blondie. I so love single serving desserts!

      By the way, almost all the recipes in the book that require dehydration also have oven-baking directions to speed things up if you choose πŸ™‚

    Wow! It is the mark of a good cookbook when the recipes you make from it come out as beautifully as the ones in the book! I am a creamy dessert lover, so all of those with a creamy element look fantastic, but I was actually most excited by that little sandwich cookie!

    I love seeing the user submitted pics…people making the food in their own kitchens, for real, no fake studio lighting..just people cooking YOUR RECIPES. That’s gotta be so awesome for you!

    I want the Sugared Doughnut Holes to start with!

    Looks like your testers followed the recipes to a T. All of them look delicious and this goes to show that anyone that can read can use your book and end up with tasty, colorful dishes!

    Wow! These look fabulous! I haven’t ordered yet but will soon. I can’t wait to try the sesame noodles, and the pie/tart from the dessert pictures. I’d like to add how I love the theme of the book. Raw food is great, but sometimes it’s nice to have a little something cooked in the mix. This looks like a beautiful fusion of both!

    I’m going to go against form here and say I’m deeply, deeply excited by the deconstructed sushi bowl! As in, it hurts my heart that I have to wait when surely, surely this would be perfect for the current summer heat.

    Instead, I’ll keep a-sipping my smoothie, and dreaming of the day when I have you in my arms.

    Your book, I mean. When I have your book in my arms. Yep.

      Most of my smoothies have a banana as the base, for creaminess, but I’m sure you’ll like them just as much without the ‘nanas!

    Wow, beautiful photos! I must say that I’m really excited about trying that delicious looking crepe! And the almond butter sesame noodles! I own lots of vegan cookbooks; I confess that I do not own a single one about raw foods. Yours will be my first. Your book has me excited about incorporating more raw foods into my diet. : )

    OK, upfront confesh- I’m not really a dessert person so much as a general carb person, but the Le Matin Parfait and the Parisian Street Crepes are so beautiful I will make an exception. Pre-ordering!

    wow, the book cover looks amazing!! Did you write a post explaining how you got a book deal?? I would love a link to it if so, if not I would love to see a post written about it!!!
    My dream is to get a book deal someday!!! πŸ™‚
